Don’t Miss the Model Train Gallery at Union Station
Every year around Thanksgiving, the team at Union Station begins the process of transforming it into a holiday wonderland complete with decked-out trees, lights, and rides aboard decorating trains. That process is still underway, but one aspect of the holiday celebration is already open and waiting: the Model Train Gallery at Union Station.
Snow-dusted trees and other wintry accents bring festive vibes to the model train display. Volunteers work tirelessly to create the enchanting scene, which spans 8,000 square feet of space at Union Station. It includes everything from small N-scale model trains and larger G-scale trains, all arranged to emulate a working system of locomotives. The Model Train Gallery is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday, and admission is free. Note that you’re expected to wear a mask and social-distance when you come to enjoy the exhibit!
