Mexican Foods Gets a Modern Twist at Mexicue
Since opening its doors in October, Mexicue has been getting a lot of attention from locals and visitors alike. Yelpers say it’s a much-needed addition to the Logan Circle food scene, thanks to its upscale Mexican fare and top-notch service. The menu features a variety of shareable plates, ranging from nachos and a variety of chip/dip combinations, but the kitchen also serves a unique "tres carnes" DIY taco platter to serve a table of 4. You’ll find plenty of traditional Mexican favorites, like chicken tostadas, bean and cheese burritos, and–of course–a variety of taco options.
But the kitchen here also serves up quite a few modern, innovative twists on classic dishes. Try, for example, the charred cauliflower bowl, filled with brown rice, black bean spread, and cashew salsa, or (if you want to turn up the heat) go for a plate of Mexican jambalaya, filled with spicy chorizo, smoky chicken, and grilled shrimp, with plenty of black beans, salsa, and cheese.
